Baker & Cook originates from Jen Demarest (the baker) and Nick Demarest (the cook).
Jen has dreamed of her own bakery space for many years. After a complete extended renovation they are excited to bring quality breads, pastries and coffee to the community in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. With over 13 years of experience in Sonoma running the Harvest Moon Café they are bringing a casual neighborhood bakery and café in Boyes Hot Springs.
Their principals and goals to work with local, sustainable ingredients to create the best possible products for their customers will remain an emphasis through their menus.
Nick and Jen are graduates of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., where they met. They have experienced a wide array of culinary adventures together, ranging from a biodynamic farm in upstate New York and a private lodge in the Texas Hill Country, to the island of Cyprus where Nick was the personal chef to the American Ambassador. Nick found his culinary way to California with a job at Chez Panisse in Berkeley and Jen at BayWolf and Downtown Restaurant. Weekend trips to Sonoma County drew them to the North Bay where they opened Harvest Moon Café in 2006.
